ATPK to start coal production from mines H2 2007

The company?s CEO Wasisto Budiharsoyo said that PT Mega Alam Sejahtera mine in Berau, East Kalimantan would commence production in July with initial monthly production of 40,000 tonnes per month, ramping up to 60,000 tonnes per month three months after; PT Sarana Mandiri Utama mine in Sesayap,Bulungan, East Kalimantan would commence production in the third quarter of 2007 with initial production of 30,000 tonnes per months and would double after several months; PT Tuhup Coal Mining in Central Kalimantan would commence production third quarter of 2007 with production seen steady at 20,000 tonnes per month, while PT Damanka Prima mine in Bengalon, East Kutai regency would commence production in the third quarter with initial production of 50,000 tonnes per month.
Another mining subsidiary PT Saptajaya Menjak Sengewari, which has concession in Lampung, Sumatra would commence production early 2008 with initial production of 20,000 tonnes per month, he said.
Wasisto said that coal produced from the company?s mines would be sold to traders. He also said that currently ATPK is in negotiation with Bumi Resources? trading arm Enercorp to sell 1 million tonnes per annum of ATPK coal to PLN via Enercorp. ?We hope to be able to conclude the deal soon,? he said.
