ATPK to start E. Kalimantan coal production 2010

IDX-listed firm PT ATPK Resources expects to start commercial coal production from its coal mine in Sesayap, Bulungan Regency in August 2010.

The company revealed in a presentation material released Wednesday that its unit that runs the mine PT Sarana Mandiri Utama has signed deal with local contractor PT Garda Satya Mandiri to mine and develop infrastructure in the concession.

Offtake agreement has also been signed with PT Optima Persada Energi (OPE), which will buy all the coal output, it said without giving further details.

The company did not give detail about production capacity.

Elsewhere it also reported that its Mega Alam Sejahtera coal mine in Berau will start production in December 2009 with initial production plan of 50,000-150,000 tonnes per month.

The company has signed an offtake agreement with PT Bara Jaya Utama, which will buy all the coal output. (denny)
