Attorney General forms special team to investigate Balongan and Paiton I case

The Attorney General's office has formed a special team to investigate the cost mark up allegations in the Balongan refinery oil project and the Paiton I power project, the Bisnis Indonesia daily reported.

"We have upgraded the status of our investigation in the two cases from intelligence investigation to special investigation," Attorney General Marzuki Darusman told reporters on the sidelines of a hearing session with the House of Representatives commission VIII on energy and mining.

Marzuki also said that he had sent a letter to former mining and energy minister Ginandjar Kartasasmita to be ready when needed for questioning. He said that Ginandjar, who is currently in the U.S. for a study, had agreed. (*)
