The Attorney General's Office (AGO) will reopen the corruption case of the PT Pertamina's Export Oriented (Exxor) I project in Balongan, the Kompas newspaper reported in its Thursday edition.
The AGO handled the case during 2002-2003 period.
The decision to reopen the case was taken after Supreme Court?s decision to punish Pertamina?s former director of processing Tabrani Ismail with a six-year jail sentence for his role in the corruption case, which incurred $189.58 million losses for the state.
Assistant Attorney General for Special Crimes Hendarman Supandji said that Tabrani didn?t act alone in the corruption case. Therefore, the file is reopened to find out other suspects,? Hendarman said in Jakarta on Wednesday. (*)
