ASX-listed Augur Resources reported the commencement of scoping study of the Randu Kuning 1.54 million ounce ('Moz') gold equivalent1 ('AuEq') JORC compliant deposit at its Wonogiri project in Central Java.
Metallurgical testing of samples from the lower grade portion of the deposit commenced with recoveries of up to 90.1 percent for gold and 93.8 percent for copper reported. The Australia-listed miner said in a filing that the scoping study is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2013.
Randu Kuning is one of a number of gold and copper prospects at Wonogiri.
The Wonogiri project has quality infrastructure supporting the project located approximately 30 kilometers to the south of the provincial city of Solo and is easily accessible by daily flights from the capital Jakarta.
The surrounding area has power grid, a large dam and numerous river and stream systems. Altitude of the Randu Kuning deposit is at approximately 200 meters above sea level.
Augur holds an 80 percent interest in the project.
