Augur to start drilling at W. Java gold project

Australian-listed firm Augur Resources Ltd said on Wednesday that the first phase of drilling at the Jampang gold project in south-western Java is due to commence this week.

The drilling will initially focus on the Lipi prospect where gold mineralisation had been reported during the 1990s by Canadian mining company Mispec Resources Inc, the company said.

The Company is also planning for a significant RC drilling program to test a number of geophysical and geochemical anomalies to commence in May 2010.

The Jampang gold project is located approximately 150 kilometres south of Jakarta.

In Feb 2010, Augur through its wholly owned unit Augur Investments Pty Limited has signed deal with PT BEST Clean Energy to acquire an option to purchase a 90 percent interest in PT Golden Pricindo.

Golden Pricindo holds an IUP (Mining Business Licence) covering the central Jampang area in southwestern Java. (kanti)
