Its total cash cost of sales for the quarter amounted to A$514 per gold equivalent ounce sold, an increase of 10.5% over the previous quarter.
Operating in Mt Muro in Central Kalimantan, through its wholly owned subsidiary PT Indo Muro Kencana, the company said it had got free access to all its mining areas during the quarter as illegal miners had no longer blocked its activities.
Meanwhile, the company said that the incorporation of the Juking Sopan and Talian blocks into the Mt Muro Contract of Work had been approved and reconnaissance exploration programs have commenced.
The mine was subject to drought and smoke haze conditions during August and the first half of September. Drought conditions rendered the Barito River unnavigable, resulting in diesel fuel and other consumables and reagents being transported overland.
Aurora said in August that it would continue with its plan of closing down its gold mine in Central Kalimantan by September despite its exploration success to identify new resources. (*)
