Australia’s Clough secures US$7 million W. Madura project

Australian engineering contractor Clough Limited said Tuesday Korea Development Company Energy (Kodeco), the operator of West Madura PSC, had awarded its Indonesian subsidiary PT Petrosea and PT Clough a Letter of Award for the KE40 project in the Java Sea off north east Java worth approximately US$7 million (A$9.6 million).

“Clough’s planned work for Kodeco’s KE40 project involves the transportation and installation of both 12km of rigid subsea pipeline and a production platform weighing 300 tonnes in 60 metres of water off Java,” Clough said in a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange.

According to Clough, the works are planned for September this year and will again utilise its vessel, the ‘Java Constructor’.

KE 40 was discovered by Wildcat KE 40-1. Pay zones in the Kujung III Formation flowed 2,400 barrels of oil and 1.7 million cubic feet of gas per day.

Kodeco holds 50 percent working interest in the Block while Chinese firm CNOOC Limited and state oil and gas company PT Pertamina hold 25 percent, 50 percent, respectively. (robert)
