Australia METS sector focusing on Indonesia mining industry

Indonesia mining industry has become a key market for Australian mining equipment, technology and service (METS) sector.
Kellie-Jane Pritchard, Regional Director at Western Australia Indonesia Trade Office told Petromindo.com that Indonesia mining industry still has an immense opportunities despite the current market downturn.
She said that currently there are about 83 METS companies of Western Australia which export their products to Indonesia.
"Almost half of Western Australia METS companies in Indonesia are equipments and mining services suppliers," she said during a seminar on Western Australian METS held in Jakarta, on Thursday.
"The Australian METS companies have several competitive edges compared to other companies such as having diverse products, being customer focused, innovative, globally focused and technology," he said adding that METS sector contributes around US$90 billion to the Australian economy.
The seminar highlighted among others innovations for improvement of efficiencies, capacity building, skills transfer.
