Mining company PT Maruwai Coal (MC), a subsidiary of Australia?s BHP Billiton, has cancelled its plan of exposing its investment plans to Central Kalimantan provincial government officials due to security reasons, Antara news agency reported on Wednesday.
MC leaders had informed them about the cancellation, Central Kalimantan Governor Asmawi Agani told provincial council members in a hearing last week. The public expose meeting, originally planned for October, would be held only on November 2.
Bali bombing on Oct 12, which claimed more than 180 lives and injured some 300 people, had discouraged foreigners from coming to Indonesia. Many of them were Australians.
A terrorist network had been thought to have planned the Bali attack. (*)
