Austrian firm eyes $50m renewable energy project in Indonesia

An Austrian firm is expected to invest in a renewable energy project with state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), The Jakarta Post reported Wednesday.

PLN planning director Nasri Sebayang spoke to reporters briefly on Wednesday, saying the Austrian firm had pledged US$50 million for the project.

?It has been written in PLN's Blue book,? Nasri said in Jakarta.

Also on Wednesday, the government and Austria Finance Minister Reinhold Mitter Lehner signed two letters of agreement (LoA) on several projects in Indonesia. These included a power plant construction, transportation and infrastructure projects. (*)
