Authorities expect Genting to submit PoD sooner

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas expect Genting Oil Kasuri Ltd to soon submit the plan of development (PoD) for the Kasuri block in West Papua as there has already been a request from fertilizer industry for gas allocation from the block, Kontan reported on Tuesday.

 

Director of upstream oil and gas at the ministry, Naryanto Wagimin was quoted as saying that Genting Oil, a subsidiary of Malaysia?s oil and gas firm Genting Oil Berhard, is expected to be able to submit the PoD by mid this year.

 

Meanwhile, SKK Migas expects Genting to submit the PoD much sooner. ?Within weeks, either next week, for certain in the near future,? said SKK Migas Public Relations Chief Rudianto Riambono.

 

This portal quoted Genting Oil Kasuri General Manager Nara Nilandaroe as saying last month that the company plans to submit the PoD at the end of this year. (*)
