Upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas said that oil and gas operations in the country have so far remained safe and secure despite the current bad weather condition.

SKK Migas Public Relations Chief Elan Biantoro told Petromindo.com on Monday that the authority has long anticipated the possibility of the seasonal bad weather through measures including preparing logistical supports for offshore crew before the high waves occur.

Head of Fuel and Gas Division at state-owned electricity firm PLN, Suryadi Mardjoeki told Petromindo.com that there has been no weather-related disturbance to the operation of the company?s gas-fired power plants.

?I have not received report of weather disturbance, it seems that there?s been no problem at the entire gas-fired power plants,? he said.

He added that the gas fired power plants in Jakarta and Bekasi including the Tanjung Priok, Muara Karang, and Muara Tawar plants have run normally despite the current floods affecting the two cities.

?Last year, Muarakarang was affected by the flood because the Latuharhary canal dike collapsed. This year, there?s no dike collapses, so all are safe,? PLN President Nur Pamudji said to Petromindo.com, adding that all power plants operate normally.
