Avocet seeks to double N. Sulawesi gold resources

UK gold miner Avocet Mining plc is targeting to more than double resources at its Doup prospect in North Sulawesi to more than 2 million ounces.
The company said in a presentation released on Wednesday that the Doup prospect, which distance is 25 kms from its producing North Lanut mine, is expected to be able to produce 100,000 ounces of per annum.
The company said scoping works and metallurgical tests at the prospects are ongoing.
Meawhile, the company also reported that scout drilling at its Seruyung prospect in east Kalimantan had been completed and the company is targeting resources of 500,000 ounces with potential production of 50,000 oz per annum. (denny)
