AWE: AAL appraisal well drilling program canceled

ASX-listed Santos Ltd has canceled an earlier plan to carry out drilling program for a G-sand appraisal well at the Ande Ande Lumut (AAL) oil field in West Natuna PSC, in the Natuna Sea, this year.
?The operator, Santos, has advised that it will not proceed with drilling an appraisal well on the underlying G-sand in 2015 as originally planned,? said ASX-listed AWE Ltd in a statement Thursday, but did not provide explanation.
AWE holds a 50 percent interest in the West Natuna PSC, while the balance is held by ASX-listed Santos Ltd as the operator.
Elsewhere, the AWE statement said the prequalification and tender processes for the FPSO and wellhead platform are continuing as planned for completion later this calendar year, and the joint venture will be in a position to consider final investment decision (FID) for AAL field in late 2015 or early 2016.
AWE said last year that the FID for the AAL oil field development project was expected in the middle of 2015, with first oil production targeted in late 2017.
