AWE, partners drill unsuccessful offshore E. Java exploration well

Australian firm AWE Limited reported on Thursday that the Liyun-1 exploration well in the Bulu PSC, offshore East Java, is being plugged and abandoned as indicators show no significant hydrocarbons.
The well had reached a total depth of 2,753 meters from a planned total depth of approximately 2,570 metres. The well was spudded on June 17, 2010.
The company did not give further details.
The participants in the Bulu PSC are AWE Limited (42.5% stake); Pearl Oil (Satria) Ltd (as operator with 42.5% stake) ; PT Satria Energindo 10% and PT Satria Wijaya Kusuma 5.0%. (kanti)
