AWE plans to complete Indonesia?s shale gas study in Q3

Australia-listed oil, gas firm AWE Limited plans to complete in the third quarter of this year the study on shale gas potentials on a block in the basin located at central part of Sumatra.
The firm said in a presentation released on Monday that it is one of four operators that have been awarded rights to carry out first shale gas studies in Indonesia. Four shale gas blocks have been awarded for study purpose by the Indonesian government, including one measuring 5,000 sq km to AWE.
?Study commenced in March 2012 and is planned for completion in 3Q, 2012,? the company said.
The company did not provide details about the location of the block, nor the time when it was awarded.
