After a recent encouraging recent gas discovery, Australia-listed oil and gas company AWE Limited said it plans to farm down a stake in its wholly controlled Anambas PSC in Natuna Sea.

AWE said in a presentation that the farm-down would be carried out ahead of possible appraisal well in 2013 in support of Plan of Development (PoD) to be submitted in 2014.

The Anambas PSC contains the Anambas Gas Field, discovered in 2006, together with a number of additional exploration prospects within an offshore area containing significant gas development and pipeline infrastructure.

Following recent successful drillings, the company said that Anambas discovery is estimated to contain 60 Bcf gas and 12 million barrels of liquids. Further 100 Bcf of prospective gas resources plus associated liquids identified on structure, but as yet not intersected by wells.

The discovery well flowed at 15.5 mmscfd and 300 barrels of condensate per day (from 2 zones).
