AWE pushes back Atlas-1 drilling to May

Australia-listed oil, gas firm AWE Limited said it plans to commence the drilling of the Atlas-1 well in the company-operated Titan PSC, in East Java, in May, instead of its initial plan of March.
?Drilling of the well is expected to commence in May 2012,? it announced. The Atlas-1 well will target a sizable gas prospect, located approximately 35 kilometers to the northeast of the Lengo gas discovery, which tested gas at rates of 12.8 million cubic feet per day from the discovery well in 2008.
The participants in the Titan PSC are: AWE Limited (via subsidiaries) (Operator), 40.0%, Baruna Oil and Gas Ltd, 25.0%, Mitra Energy (Indonesia Titan) Ltd, 25.0% and PT Sillo Maritime Perdana, 10.0%. Baruna Oil and Gas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Black Platinum Energy Ltd.
In another update AWE stated a shale gas study area was granted to it during the quarter, covering approximately 5,000 square kilometers of prospective acreage in the central Sumatra basin. The study was initiated during the quarter and is planned to be completed during the September quarter.
