Bad weather affects Java Sea upstream operations

BPMIGAS Deputy Chairman in Charge of operations Dodi Hidayat told Petromindo.Com that BP had halted drilling and work over operations at its Offshore North West Java oil, gas block (ONWJ) for 10 days now due to bad weather.
Dodi said that CNOOC halted crew change in South East Sumatra (SES) offshore Western part of Java due to high tide.
PetroChina?s Floating Storage Offloading facility offshore East Java almost get overflowed on Sunday after a tanker was failed to offtake crude from the FSO due to high waves. The tanker, however, finally managed to perform lifting operations after the weather got better, an official from PetroChina said.
Indonesian waters had been hit by waves as high as 6 meters since January. Kangean Energy Indonesia is forced to stop crude production operations from Sepanjang field in Kangean PSC offshore East Java in January after storm hit FSO that store crude production. Medco has stopped crude production from Camar field in Camar PSC, also located offshore East Java after storm prevented the company to perform hose replacement operations. (godang)
