Wahyudi Suhartono has been appointed as the new president director of East Kalimantan-based liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer PT Badak NGL, taking over from Harry Poernomo, local daily Kaltim Post reported Tuesday.

Harry, who is now the downstream director of state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, handed over the NGL’s top post to Wahyudi during a ceremony in Bontang Saturday. He had served as company president director since 2001, and got a director position at Pertamina in September 2003.

Meanwhile, Wahyudi was previously Badak NGL’s downstream project coordinator on marketing and business.

Badak NGL operates eight LNG trains in Bontang and is in the process of building the 9th train. The eight trains together produce around 22 million tons of LNG per year, which is exported to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

The company is owned by Pertamina (55 percent), Vico (20 percent), TotalFinaElf (10 percent) and Jilco (15 percent). (*)
