PT Badak NGL, the operator of the Bontang LNG refinery in East Kalimantan, plans to produce 170 cargoes of LNG this year, depending on the supply of gas for the refinery.

?This year we?re requested to produce LNG around 170 cargoes. This is to supply the same (traditional) markets including for Nusantara Regas,? Badak NGL President Director Nanang Untung told Petromindo.com Friday.

Nanang explained that the largest supplier of gas for the Bontang refinery is Total EP Indonesie. ?As much as 70 percent of the Bontang production is supplied by Total. We expect Total to resume the normal supply (this year). They (Total) earlier suffered production problem but has now returned to the initial position,? he said.

The Bontang refinery has also received gas from VICO?s coal bed methane gas block in Sangatta, East Kalimantan.

Considering that about 5 mmscfd of gas has been supplied from Sangatta, Badak NGL wants to quickly sign a processing agreement with VICO, Nanang said.
