Badak NGL retained as operator of Bontang LNG plant

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has decided to retain PT Badak NGL as operator of the Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan after its current contract expires at the end of this year, according to a source.
The source told Petromindo.com on Monday that state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina will remain as shareholder of Badak NGL. No further details were provided.
Pertamina currently holds 55 percent interest in Badak NGL, VICO Indonesia 20 percent, Jilco 15 percent, and Total 10 percent.
Set up in 1974, Badak NGL operates one of the world?s largest LNG plants with eight LNG trains and production capacity of 22.5 million tons per annum of LNG.
Total owns 10 percent interest in Badak NGL, while Pertamina owns 55 percent, with the remainders held by Vico Indonesia (20%) and Jilco (15%).
