Badak receives ISO 14001

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer PT Badak NGL Co in Bontang, East Kalimantan received on Sunday the International Standards Organization (ISO) 14001 certificate from Llyod's Register for Quality Assurance.
Local daily Jaya Pos reported that the ISO 14001 certificate was awarded in appreciation of the environmental protection programs implemented by the company.
"The ISO 14001 is an acknowledgement of or an evidence to the success and committment of PT Badak in implementing a corporate management system with environmental vision," president director of Badak IGG Masputra said during the ceremony to award the ISO certificate.
The certificate was handed over to Masputra by Lloyd's country manager Jhon Catchpole in the ceremony attended by among other East Kalimantan governor Suwarna AF.
The ISO 14001 certificate is the latest in the string of awards received by the company in a month, according to the paper.
Last month, Badak also received the Sword Honor of Safety Management certificate for the seventh time and the Five Star Safety Management certificate for the fifth time from the British Safety Council in appreciation of its work safety and health programs.
It also received a certificate from the USA National Safety Council in the same month. (*)
