PT Badak NGL, the operator of the Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan, plans to produce 170 standard (std) cargoes of LNG this year, lower than last year, according to an official of state-owned PT Pertamina (Persero).
"Production of Bontang has been on a natural decline," VP for LNG, Gas & Power at Gas Directorate of Pertamina Didik Sasongko Widi told Petromindo.com.
A standard cargo equals to 125,000 m3, he explained.
He said, in addition to natural decline, the firm is anticipating operational difficulties this year, but he did not explain the difficulties in details.
Last year, Bontang LNG plant produced 185 std cargoes of LNG, according to Didik.
