Bahari Cakrawala Sebuku records 2001 production, sales increase

Australian mining firm Straits Resources Limited said on Tuesday that its 80 percent subsidiary PT Bahari Cakrawala Sebuku (BCS), recorded 29 percent coal production jump to 2.25 million tons in 2001, while sales amounted to 1,978,000 tons, up 27 percent on the previous year.

BCS operates an open pit coal mine in Sebuku Island, South Kalimantan.

Straits said that in 2001, coal reserves increased by 1.5 million tons in the Northern Pit areas, and drilling continued with some potential to increase resources further.(alex)
