State-owned electricity firm PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) urged the downstream oil and gas authority Bph Migas to push PT Bakrie & Brothers to complete the construction of the Kepodang-Tambak Lorok pipeline in Central Java as scheduled to ensure gas supply for the Tambak Lorok power plant.

Bakrie & Brothers has been awarded the 200 km gas pipeline project. The company signed an agreement late last year with PLN and Petronas Carigali Muriah Ltd to transport gas from the latter?s Kepodang gas field in Central Java to PLN?s Tambak Lorok power plant, also in Central Java.

Gas from the Kepodang field was supposed to start flowing to the Tambak Lorok power plant by the end of this month.

But PLN Head of Gas and Fuel Division, Suryadi Mardjoeki told Petromindo.com Wednesday that in anticipation of a possible delay in the transport of gas via the Kepodang-Tambak Lorok pipeline, the company has already secured gas supply from PT Pertamina EP?s Gundih field, which is expected to also start flowing in this month.

?Bakrie & Brothers is the one that must be responsible in completing the gas pipeline. BpH Migas should push Barkie (to complete the project on schedule),? he said, but stopped short of explaining the progress of the pipeline project.
