Bakrie completes one unit of E. Kalimantan power plant

IDX-listed PT Bakrie and Brothers Tbk, which among others is engaged in infrastructure sector, said that it has completed one unit of the 3x18 MW coal-fired power plant in Sangatta, East Kalimantan.
?One of the units has already been in operation,? said Bakrie Finance Director Amri Aswono to Petromindo.com recently.
He added that construction progress of the other two units has reached 90 percent, and are expected to be completed in the middle of next year.
He said that the power output will be used to support the operation of coal miner PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), while power excess will be sold to state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.
