Bakrie Power to start mine mouth power plant construction in Q3

PT Bakrie Power, a company affiliated with Bakrie Group, targets to begin the construction of 2X100MWa mine mouth power plant in Sanggata, East Kalimantan, in the third quarter this year.
?We are ready to begin the construction. East Kalimantan Governor has also urged Bakrie Power to conduct the ground-breaking soon. We are targeting the ground-breaking of the construction can be done in the third quarter,? Ali Herman Ibrahmi, President Director of PT Bakrie Power said.
According to Herman, from commercial aspect, the project is feasible given its strategic location and abundant coal reserves. The power plant will supply electricity needs of palm oil industry, petrochemical and international port to be developed in East Kalimantan.
The company plans to spend about US$350 million to develop the mine mouth power plant.
