Bakrie says Tanjung Jati A PPA negotiation in final stage

JSX-listed firm PT.Bakrie& Brothers said on Thursday negotiation with state electricity firm PLN over price of electricity that would be generated from the proposed Tanjung Jati A 2x660-MW coal-fired power plant had entered final phase of negotiation.
Director Ambono Januarianto told reporters that price range for the Power Purchaing Agreement (PPA) had narrowed to between US 4.4-4.5 cents per kwh.
?PLN wants take or pay volume of 80 percent, while the consortium asked for 85 percent,? he said.
The US$1.4 billion Tanjung Jati A project would be built by Tanjung Jati Corp., which shareholders include Bakrie Power, Tomen Corp, International Power and Maharani Group
Ambono said the consortium has secured location permit to build the plant in Cirebon, West Java and the first unit of the plant is expected to come onstream in November 2011, followed by another unit in June 2012. (bernard)
