Bakrie starts delivery of steel pipes for BP's gas pipeline network

PT Bakrie Pipe Industries (BPI) launched on Monday the first delivery (out of five batches) of steel pipes for the construction of a gas pipeline network that will be built by British energy giant BP, the Bisnis Indonesia daily reported on Tuesday.

The pipeline will be used to transmit BP's gas from northern coast of Java to state utility PLN's combined cycle power plant in Muara Karang, North Jakarta.

BPI has won a US$12.4 million contract to supply the steel pipes.(*)
