Bakrie to complete E. Kalimantan power project next year

PT Bakrie Indo Infrastruktur (BII) aims to complete the construction of a 3x18 MW coal-fired power plant in Sangatta, East Kalimantan, in the second quarter of next year.
?About 90 percent of the (targeted) construction works have been completed. In the second quarter of next year, it will start operation,? said BII Chief Financial Officer, Amri Aswono Putro to Petromindo.com last week.
Amri said that electricity from the US$150 million power plant will be supplied to support the operation of coal mining giant Kaltim Prima Coal, while the excess power to be offered to state-owned electricity firm PT PLN. ?One of the (three) units will be offered to PLN,? he said.
