Bali Global to build LNG receiving terminal

PT Bali Global Enerqi (BGE), one of companies owned by the provincial administration of Bali will spend between Rp 2.7 trillion and Rp 3.5 trillion to build a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) or a LNG receiving terminal and its distribution facilities in the Buleleng water off the resort island, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

BGE?s President Director Ketut Susanta said about Rp 1.2 trillion of the total funds would be used to purchase a FSRU and the other Rp 1.5 trillion for the construction of a jetty and gas pipeline and other distribution facilities.

He said that BGE would cooperate with PT Odira Persada Resources for the procurement of the FSRU which would have length of 240 meter and width of 40 meters. BGE would receive LNG supply from Qatar and Tangguh LNG Plant in Papua.

Ketut said that BGE gas signed a head agreement with Malaysian company Teratai Sanjung Holdings Sdn Bhd for the supply of LNG from Qatar in Nov. 2. Under the agreement, the first shipment would be carried out in Dec. 31, 2013 with total volume of 0.52 million tons a year. The volume will be increased to 1.04 million tons a year beginning June 15, 2015 for 20 years.

Gas will be supplied to power plants in Pamaron and Pesanggaran, which have a capacity of 80 MW and 162 MW, respectively. (*)
