State-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) said that its power plant in Bali is expected to receive 30-40 mmscfd of gas by the end of this year from the Sengkang mini LNG plant in South Sulawesi.

Investor Daily quoted Friday Head of Fuel and Gas Division at PLN, Suryadi Mardjoeki as saying that the oil and gas upstream authority SKK Migas has sent a recommendation letter to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) to allocate 30-40 mmscfd of the LNG to be produced by the Sengkang plant to Bali. He added that PLN is currently waiting for the allocation letter from the MEMR.

?If the allocation letter is issued soon, the LNG from Sengkang can be delivered at the end of December,? Suryadi said on Thursday.

Construction of the Sengkang LNG plant has covered 80 percent of the targeted works, the paper said. The plant will receive 70 mmscfd of gas from Walanga, Sampi-Sampi, and Bone fields (Wasambo) in South Sulawesi, which is operated by Energy Equity Epic Sengkang, and another 25 mmscfd from Donggi Senoro field, the paper said.

Suryadi said that PLN is currently in the process of constructing an LNG receiving and regasification terminal in Bali to process the LNG from the Sengkang plant into gas, which will then be distributed to the planned 200 MW Pesanggaran power plant, part of which (50MW) to be completed in September, the paper said.
