Balikpapan I refinery to undergoes turnaround

State oil and gas firm PT. Pertamina has started to turn around Balikpapan I refinery in East Kalimantan February 15, a company official told Petromindo.Com Friday.

Pertamina refinery director Suroso said that the turnaround would take 20 days.

The refinery has capacity to process 60,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil.

Pertamina also operates Balikpapan II refinery, located near Balikpapan I, with capacity to distill 220,000 bpd of crude.

Separately, Pertamina vice-president director Mustiko Saleh told reporters in Jakarta that currently Pertamina has stocked fuel oil equal to 20 days of national consumption and would increase the stock to 22 days to anticipate the planned fuel price increase before April 15. (godang)
