Balikpapan II refinery to resume operations May 15

State oil and gas company Pertamina said Friday crude distillation unit (CDU) at Balikpapan II refinery in East Kalimantan will be back in operation on May 15 after being repaired on routine maintenance.
?With CDU back in operation, Balikpapan II would be able to produce at 60 percent capacity,? said M. Asyab, Pertamina?s deputy director downstream in charge of refinery. He, however, did not say when the refinery would resume full capacity of 220,000 barrels per day.
Pertamina also planned to shut its 125,000-bpd Balongan refinery in West Java for around 60 days in August for routine maintenance. (godang)
