The Balikpapan oil refinery of the state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina which was damaged by fire in August last year will soon resume operation, according to company spokesman F. Welan.

Welan said that the one-year repair work had now been completed. ?In the very near future it will resume production.?

The refinery facility in East Kalimantan high octane moga component (HOMC) liquefied petroleum.

The fire incident happened because the facility was already old, Welan said, but added that the fire did not disrupt the production of the whole Balikpapan refinery facility.(*)
