Balongan RCC unit?s shutdown longer than expected

State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said repair works on the Residue Catalytic Cracking (RCC) unit of its Balongan oil refinery in West Java are still in progress, lasting longer than expected.
?The RCC unit is still being repaired,? Pertamina's VP for Communication Basuki Trikora Putra told Petromindo.Com on Monday without specifying when the unit will resume operation.
He noted however that the shutdown has not much affected the refinery's overall production.
The firm shut down the 63,000 bpd RCC unit Wednesday morning due to ?technical problems?. When announcing the shutdown, Processing Director Rukmi Hadihartini said that the RCC unit is expected to resume operation on Thursday.
Balongan has a combined processing capacity of 125,000 bpd of crude oil and produces various fuels such as Pertamax Plus, Pertamina Dex, unleaded gasoline and LPG. (bernard)
