Balongan refinery plant resumes operation

Pertamina's Balongan oil refinery plant in the town of Indramayu, West Java has resumed operation after being temporarily closed for about two weeks to undergo its turnaround program, the state oil and gas company Pertamina reported on Tuesday.

"The refinery started up the operation yesterday but it would need two or three days to operate at normal capacity, "Pertamina's director for processing Suroso Atmomartoyo told Petromindo.com Monday evening.

He said that the refinery plant would increase liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by 150 tons per day after the completion of the periodical maintenance works.

The Balongan refinery which process crude oil into fuel-based products, has a production capacity of 125,000 barrels per day. (godang)
