State oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) said its Balongan refinery in West Java is scheduled to resume operation at normal capacity today after it was shut down on Thursday following a strong earthquake hitting the area.

“Pertamina would try to restart the operation of the refinery at normal capacity today. If it is not possible then maybe tomorrow,” CEO Ari Soemarno told reporters on Monday.

Balongan has capacity to process 125,000 BPD of crude and produces fuels such as Pertamax Plus, Pertamina Dex, inleaded gasoline and LPG.(godang)
