Bangladesh is set to receive about 192,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over the next 10 days from Australia, Indonesia and the United States, as the country moves to secure energy supplies amid global market uncertainty, state energy company Petrobangla said.

The shipments will arrive via three separate vessels at Chattogram port and will be processed through a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) operated by RPGCL at Moheshkhali in the Bay of Bengal.

A Liberian-flagged tanker, HL Puffin, has already arrived carrying about 62,000 tonnes of LNG from Australia, port authorities said.

A second vessel, New Brave, is scheduled to arrive on March 27 with around 61,500 tonnes of LNG from Indonesia, while a third shipment of about 70,000 tonnes from the United States is expected on April 4 aboard the Celsius Galapagos.

Petrobangla said the imports are aimed at ensuring uninterrupted gas supply for power generation and industrial use.

Officials at Chattogram Port said energy cargoes are being prioritized for berthing and discharge, citing increased pressure on global energy markets linked to tensions in the Middle East.

The deliveries come as Bangladesh seeks to stabilize domestic energy supply by increasing LNG imports, with authorities coordinating logistics to ensure timely regasification and distribution.
