Coal mining firm PT Bangun Banua Persada Kalimantan is seeking to acquire a new coal mine particularly around Binuang and Tabalong in South Kalimantan Province.
Bangun Banua Director Fentony Sudjono told Petromindo.com on Monday in Bali that the planned acquisition was necessary as economical reserves at its current mine, also in South Kalimantan, is set to soon deplete.
He said that the company was looking for a coal mine with reserves of around 10 million tons, and coal calorific value of more than 4,000 kcal/kg.
Fentony said last month that the company will only produce 400,000 tons of coal this year.
