Bangun Energi to boost coal production

Coal mining company PT Bangun Energy Indonesia will boost its production from its mine in Jambi from 25,000 tons at present to between 85,000 and 100,000 tons per month.
?It would not difficult for us to raise production, if we could easily access logistical supports. In reality, it?s difficult to access the logistics due to the lacking infrastructure around our operating area,? Sunil Mohan Mirpuri, a director of the company, told Petromindo.com on the sidelines of the ?2nd Unlocking Coal Sumatra Potentials? conference in Jakarta.
?We can realize the production increase plan, if there is a logistical support,? he said.
He said throughout two years of operation, the firm has exploited 500 hectares of area.
?We shall develop it in phases. We are even analyzing the possibility of building a mine mouth power plant, because the government has said (power plants in Sumatra) will supply power to the Asean grid, aside from the power grids in Sumatra and Java,? he said.
