Coal mining company PT Bangun Energy Indonesia, a subsidiary of PT Batubara Energy Indonesia, said it plans to ramp up production to 80,000 tons per month from the current average of 45,000 tons from its coal mine in Jambi.

?We hope to increase production to 80,000 tons by August this year,? Sunil Mirpuri, President Director of Bangun Energi Indonesia told Petromindo.com.

The calorific value of the coal is 3,500 kcal/kg GAR.

He said that transportation logistics remain the toughest problem in developing mines in Jambi.

?There is no river in Jambi with sufficient water level to be used as a means of transportation, hence the limitation of production,? he said.
