Banpu close to complete Kalimantan coalmines acquisition

Thai energy conglomerate Banpu Plc. is close to acquire two coalmines in Indonesia and hope the deal will be sealed later this month.

An official at Banpu Indonesia declined to give detail but saying that both mines are located in Kalimantan and were at advanced exploration stage.

Banpu operated producing coalmines: Jorong Barutama Greston in South Kalimantan, Indominco Mandiri, Kitadin with combined annual output of around 12 million tons. The company also operates Mumpun Pandan and Barasentosa mines in Sumatra and Trubaindo mine in East Kalimantan, which are at exploration and development stages (alex)
