Banpu to lift force majeure status in two weeks

Indonesian unit of Thai Energy Conglomerate Banpu PCL said on Thursday that it might be able to lift force majeure status for Bontang loading terminal within two weeks? time.

?Preliminary assessment showed that repairs damaged coal loader at the Bontang terminal could take about two weeks,? Jenny Herman, Banpu Indonesia Corporate Communication told Petromindo.Com .

The company?s unit PT. Indominco Mandiri declared force majeure on Monday on coal shipments after the boom of a ship loader fell on a vessel being loaded at the Bontang terminal in East Kalimantan.

Parent company Banpu said on Tuesday that repair to damaged facilities might take a number of weeks.

An agency reported on Wednesday that Banpu was still studying the possibility of diverting coal loading and shipments to other ports in East Kalimantan.(denny)
