Banpu to start underground mine in 2009

IDX-listed coal-mining group PT.Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITM) will start operations of underground mine in 2009.
The company said in a presentation made available to the IDX on Friday that the underground mine will be located within the western block area of its East Kalimantan subsidiary PT.Indominco Mandiri.
The company said it was now in the process of recruiting underground mine experts and procuring equipments.
The company did not give detail about the planned production volume.
ITM is a subsidiary of Thai energy conglomerate Banpu PCL. (denny)
