Bantaeng nickel industry to start operation this quarter

The paper quoted Bantaeng Industrial Park Vice President Taufik Fachrudin as saying that two of Huadi?s planned six furnaces have been installed, and are set to start production soon at a daily output of 280 tons of ferronickel.
?God Willing, in the first quarter of 2017, or in the second quarter at the latest. We?re now waiting for electricity from PLN (state-owned electricity firm),? Taufik said.
He said that Huadi plans to invest a combined Rp 5 trillion at the 3,000-ha industrial park to build a total of 3 million tons per year of nickel smelter. In the first stage, production will be around 30 percent of the total planned capacity.
?After six months, they will start second stage development, constructing four furnaces. They (Haudi) now requires 40 MW of electricity supply,? he said.
Elsewhere, Taufik said that realized investment at the Bantaeng Industrial Park in Bantaeng Regency is Rp 3.89 trillion, out of the total commitment of Rp 45.5 trillion.
He said that the maiden production of Huadi?s smelter will be followed with the operation of another smelter by PT Titan Mineral Utama.
Other companies that planned to build nickel smelters in the part include PT Sinar Deli Group with investment plan of Rp 1.5 trillion, and PT Bantaeng Central Asia with investment plan of Rp 3 trillion. (*)
