Banten to offer Aldera Banten geothermal prospect to investors

The Banten provincial government will call for bids to develop geothermal resources in the Aldera Banten working area, Pandegelang regency.

The province's mining and geology office head Eko Palmadi said over the weekend that Aldera Banten, which is located near the Karang and Pulosari mountains, had potentials to generate a combined 115 MW of electricity.

?Now, we are formulating a regulation (for the project) in the form of governor's decree. After that, we shall hold an open tender for anyone interested to explore and exploit the resources,? Eko told the Koran Tempo.

According to Eko, a number of investors from countries such as China, South Korea and the Phillippines, are interested in the project.(*)
