ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd. (EMCL) said that the Banyu Urip project is currently more than 97 percent complete, with production now exceeding 80,000 barrels per day.

?We continue to see strong capacity results of the Banyu Urip wells and will continue to ramp up production until we reach peak field production of more than 200,000 barrels per day this year,? VP of Public Relations and Government Affairs at ExxonMobil Indonesia Erwin Maryoto told Petromindo.com.

Currently most of the production facilities at Banyu Urip has been shut down in preparation for start-up, except for the production from the Early Production Facility (EPF) which is still running. "The facilities will be reactivated later this month,? he said.

The Banyu Urip project in Cepu block located in the border areas of Central Java and East Java is one of the prime oil and gas projects scheduled to come onstream this year. The block is jointly operated by ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd (EMCL) and PT Pertamina EP Cepu.‪
